Re: Destruction of Wild CP

Good points, Michael. I certainly appreciate where you are coming from.
Obviously, I would not like to see a group of \322CP Vigilantes\323
going after the plants in the dead of night. This would help noone ...
especially not the plants! But I believe that there is usually time to
develop a plan that can save these plants from destruction. Re-locating
them would be my very last choice ... it would be far better to work at
trying to save the habitat itself (which I did mention later in my
message).

I think I could speak for a large number of CP enthusiasts who would say
they abhor the idea of plants being removed from the wild, but equally
abhor the destruction of stands of plants, for whatever reason, without
some effort being done to save those plants. Collecting the seeds, I
would agree, is a sincere effort to keep the species from disappearing,
but it does nothing to save the existing plants/habitat. I am deeply
committed to the concept of preserving what we have now ... not just
the hope of re-establishing \323what we had\323 at a later date.

Thanks for the dialogue, Michael. This is exactly what this forum is for. :-)
