I've seen the leaves of my Nepenthes turn red when exposed
to higher levels of light, particularly sunlight. My hybrid
N. x chelsonii did this to the extreme, where the leaves turned
wholly a dark maroon. Not a glimpse of green was visible.
The plant grows just fine under these circumstances, with
no apparent ill effect.
