CP map online

Two thoughts on the CP map...

1)I think it would be very nice to have a clickable map of the US, so
every time you click on a state you would just get a list of the CP to
be found in that state. Extremely coarse resolution that. Once such a
system is running, a comparable map of Europe, Asia, Australia, etc etc
etc would be great. (Sorry if you, gentle reader, are in the etc etc
category here! :) )

Then, finer detail might be added when appropriate. For example, in
North Carolina there are a variety of CP boardwalks and so on. I think
that putting information about CP stands that are not protected is a very
bad idea. As FAQ-keeper, I get about two emails per day from people, and
many want to know where they can obtain CP, and most are clueless that wild
collection is a bad thing.

2)The Nature Conservancy has a system on line which is called the Natural
Heritage Program. This is available at www.heritage.tnc.org and may serve
as a source of ideas....
