Introduction

Hello. I have been subscribing to this list since early october, and have
not been able to compose a proper introduction message due to my intensive
class load in school. I am a graduating senior in the landscape
architecture program at Washington State University, and recieved a degree
in the ornamental horticulture program two years ago. WSU is located in
the Southeastern town of Pullman for those interested in our location.
I have had an interest in CP's ever since my fourth grade teacher
introduced them to my class as a science project. National Geographic
specials only served to further my curiosity. I have been caught ever
since.
Because of my living situation (my husband and I share a tiny one bedroom
appartment that is more of greenhouse - given the number of plants that are
in the kitchen and livingroom) I have not been able to build the
appropriate environment for CP's. It was my intent to wait until we had a
bigger appartment before I embarked on growing my own CP's...but that was
before we were shopping at a local store where we found several venus
flytraps that were deemed unsellable and were going to be dumped when the
manager got his lunchbreak. So...we looked through them, and found two
that were still very much alive and took them home - the rest were
dehydrated beyond revival. Sad. They should be in the wild...not in my
home, and not in the garbage. Anyway...that was 2 months ago...the plants
are still very much alive, in matching 4" pots on a cool southern window
sill. I want to thank you for all of the information that has been passed
along...and for all of the very informative web pages on the subject of
CP's...I look forward to surfing them again in the future.
