I need information about the dormancy periods for a Venus Flytrap, a
Pitcher plant (Sarracenia) and a Butterwort (Pinguicula).
1) How do I tell when they need a period of dormancy?
2) What conditions are necessary for this dormancy?
3) How long should the dormancy period last?
I live in Southern California. The winter days are in the 50's to 70's
and the nights are in the 40's to 50's.
>From what I have read I wonder if the following would satisfy the
dormancy periods.
For the Pitcher plant and the Butterwort wetting them outside and for
the Venus Flytrap in the refrigerator?
Rather than tie up the maIling list please reply by email to

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
