I just received an article (11/18 Orange County (CA) Register) profiling Leo
Song's collection at the Fullerton Arboretum. Apparently, Leo is trying to
secure a grant to turn his 500-plant collection into a virtual "library" ..
brief excerpt follows:

"So Song has devised a plan that blends botany with library science in a new
way: He wants to turn his carnivorous plant collection into a carnivorous
plant library. Each plant would be assigned a call number, and the plant's
history, photo and location would be loaded into a dabase where anyone could
retrieve it ... Song is applying for a $5,000 university grant to begin the
library of plants ... Song hopes to put the library on the World Wide Web,
where everybody could see his reknowned collection."

Orange County Register, Page News 8, Monday, November 18, 1996, by Carol
Masciola.

Rest of the article is typical consumer-oriented "creep-factor" kind of
stuff, though the ICPS WWW home page and mailing address at Fullerton are
included.
