There's an excellent resource called Garden in the Woods near here that
grows and propagates New England wild flowers, shrubs, and trees, and
one of their most interesting exhibits is a Pitcher Plant bog---quite
spectacular and a real crowd pleaser.
I have a chronically wet area in my back yard in full sun and full view
of the house that I've been considering excavating a bit, lining with a
semi-permeable liner, and filling with suitable soil for boggy plants.
I'd love to introduce Sarracena species and other CPs that are hardy
here (zone 4/5, although this particular part of the yard is a more
sheltered, warmer mini-clime).
Has anyone tackled a project like this? Seems like most of the postings
on this list relate to indoor or greehhouse culture.
