First of all, sorry for my dulpicated message, I noticed the 'CP
Digest' title only after I sent it, so I changed the title and sent it
again, thinking the first one would bounce back to me.
As to the CP CDrom. sorry Rick, but I've tried Kodak and it's just
WAY too expensive for the number of slides I want to copy. I still have
this last chance with a friend in Brazil who might do it really cheap (or
even for free!) in the beginning of next year. If that doesn't work, then
I'll begin considering Kodak again.
As to the Latin pronunciations, I'm not sure if there is a correct
form to pronounce it. And even if there was maybe a 'more' correct way,
how many people do you think would actually be able to pronounce it
correctly? For anglo-saxons (who are majority here), this might be very
troublesome. For us native speakers of Latin languages (except maybe for
the French speakers, who have a very particular pronounciation), maybe
not as much. I never really stop to think of the correct pronunciation of
these plants names, probably because most sound normal to my ears
(Portuguese is my native language).
I guess the first time I realised that there actually existed a
problem in pronunciation of these names was when I went to L.A., N.Z. and
Australia a few years ago and sudden found that we sometimes could not
understand which plant the other was talking about!!!
