    If you use tap water for a brief period it should do no harm as long as
you can flush liberally with rain water later. It is the accumulation of
dissolved minerals that harms CPs. If the minerals are soluble they should
be removed more or less quickly by flushing. If your terrarium does not
drain, you could make a well in the soil mix to permit removing water from
the bottom.
