I forgot to mention in my previous posting
on the subject, that in English the
word "pineapple" describes the fruit
of a large terrestrial bromeliad Ananas (sp?).
Quite different from the fruit of the pine
tree which we call "pine cone". The latter
is not nearly as appetizing, except for the
nuts which can be had from the cones of some
varieties.
