Subject: Microwave Sterilization?

Concur with James; there are a couple of ways to sterilize media
using a microwave, but they're all a bit "iffy." Contamination is higher
and, inductively, "secondary" contamination (late contamination due to
bits and buggies dropping into the media from handling) would also be
common.
Best way to go about it would be to buy a pressure cooker at
Wal-Mart or something- cheap and reasonably easy. After all, an autoclave
is just a glorified pressure cooker anyway. The larger models can hold a
good number of quart canning jars, which do well for flasking plants
(orchids, in my case). :-)
