Jamie,
It sounds as if the ants are giving your plant indigestion! There
could be other possibilities though, your plant may be trying to go
dormant, but I'm not sure about that as I don't know much about
Singapores climate! I know its warm and humid, but is it like that all
year round?
What is your plant growing in? You should have it in either peat moss
with some horticultural sand mixed in, or straight spaghnum moss. You
should also have the plant sitting in a tray with about one centimetre
of water in the bottom. Don't water your plant from the top, it won't
like that too much, and if it's trying to go dormant it might cause your
plant to rot.
I hope that information helps,
-Russell
