Subject: S. rubra overeating...

Hi Everyone--

Thanks to Ron Lane, I now have a thick little clump of S. rubras which are
rapidly filling up with insects. Unfortunately, in two of the traps, big
flies have gotten stuck in the throat, blocking off the passageway. I can
only guess that this has hindered its ability to trap more insects in
those pitchers. Will the flies eventually be digested? They're stuck way
above the water level inside the pitchers. I'm amazed at S. rubra's
ability to lure and capture. Too bad I haven't yet witnessed a capture,
but the dark silhouettes on the insides of the pitchers tell the tale.

Gary
