Subject: Cuba Oriental - Once more

To Paul, Jan, or anyone else who might know about this...

>Until ... we saw them ... unrecorded at this
>site until this day .. a real treasure ...the relatively recently discovered
>Drosera moaensis. Each whole plant was barely half a centimetre in diameter
>(less than a quarter of an inch) and there were hundreds of the tiny rosettes
>everywhere that we could find Pinguicula. The leaves were few, maybe 3, 4 or
>5, and a dull reddish brown. Since they grew with pinguicula on the red
>laterite soil of Moa, it was no surprise we'd missed such small plants for
>the first few minutes. We spent hours here and found the plants could be
>located for some considerable distance along the river in both directions,
>but only on the one side of the river, avoiding direct sunlight.

What is D.moaensis?!?! I've never heard of it! It sounds like
D.brevifolia, from the description. Could it be one of the many synonyms?

Best Wishes,

P.S. I know I could look it up on the database, but my computer is not
connecting for some reason!
