Hi List,
I just returned from a two weeks trip to the France Drome department. =
I've walked a few days in the Vercors area with the main purpose to see =
Pinguicula in its natural habitat. And I succeeded. Not on my walking =
trips, but just along the road we were driving. Water was streaming out =
of the rocks at that place like a normal rain shower. Moss and grass was =
growing all over the place with inbetween Pinguicula everywhere. I'm not =
sure which specie, but I guess it must have been grandiflora. It was the =
first time I saw any CP growing in the wild and I loved it. I took some =
seed from the plants and now I'm wondering how I can treat it best. How =
can I store it? When should I sow it etc.? And what is this =
stratification thing?
I expect to put some pictures on my homepage at the end of this week or =
next week. If my page is working again, since it attracted visitors like =
CP attract insects, because of this Mars Pathfinder mania. ;-) (my =
provider closed my page down for exceeding the limit of data traffic).
The other thing that was amazing was the sight of "Edelweiss" on a large =
field of grass at altitude of 1800 - 2000 m, because it is famous for =
its beauty and rareness.
Marcel
