Good point! The thing is, most of the time it's sandy and while it
the soil is heavy, water can flow through it and keep the roots
supplied with fresh water (the roots don't go deep, often). A pot
doesn't come close to emulating a bog and the mix has to be more
open, since harmful bacteria and fungus find pots with any kind of
very wet soil even more attractive than the more naturally compact
bog soil.
