Subject: P.grandiflora in England

          Dear Juerg,

do you know when (and by whom) P.grandiflora was introduced
into the wild in England? The population in the Peak
district appears stable and the locals can remember them
being there within living memory so presumably they were
          introduced some time ago.

The Peak plants are located at a couple of small sites
growing vertically along one stream bank on wet rock and do
not appear to have spread further. P.vulgaris occurs in the
same area but in sphagnum bogs along the sides of the hills.
Thus the P.grandiflora has not spread to the P.vulgaris
          habitat.

          Kind regards

          Loyd
