Hello Phil,
Yes they can. Down in the Everglades (Florida, USA) I saw millions
and billions - well maybe I didn't see billions but when there are
several flowers per square foot and the river is as wide as the whole
state, you can be sure there are billions - of Utricularia flowers.
The Everglades are sitting on limestone so I doubt they are very acidic.
