Subject: How to plant

Hi:

I just bought 4 carnivorous plants (no species given): Venus
Flytrap, Cobra lily, Pitcher plant and butterwort. I placed them
in a large brandy sniffer with about 4" of sphaghum moss in the
bottom. I went to check today and after only 3 days, there is
white mold growing over everything. Is this normal when no soil
has been used? Didn't I use the right media for planting?
