Subject: re: Missing Bog Dog

Calling all CPers,______________________________
I need your help in finding my dog. Recently I lost my faithful pal while bog
hopping in the North Caroline area. I love this old dog and need help in finding
him again. I went to the Green Swamp a few weeks ago, looking for unusual CPs. I
spotted what appeared to be a huge purple looking fly trap, growing among the
wire grasses. When I bent down to investigate this plant, I heard this unusual
sound behind me and when I turned to see what it was, my dog was missing. He was
no where to be found. I searched for days, walking endlessly through out the
bog, calling out his name over and over again, but still wasn't able to find
him.
This dog has been with me for over 30 years now. He's always been by my side
every where I go, night and day. He never, begs, cry's, or even gets mad. I love
this old dog. He means so much to me and always will.
I found him while searching for CPs along the Caroline Coast one year. I heard
what sounded like a baby crying off in the distance. My first thought was that
someone had abandoned a child, but when I got to the location where the crying
come from, I saw this large snapping turtle trying to drag this helpless little
puppy into the water, by it's tail. I had to kill the snapping turtle to get the
puppy lose and it was love from then on.
This dog has been my best friend and loves going through the bogs, searching
for CPs. He's traveled with me to every bog I've been to. We been up and down
the east coast many times over in search of plants together. We been in severe
thunderstorms with hail as large as baseballs, we been in bogs where the
temperatures easily reached 120 degrees, but my old dog has always stuck by my
side. He once saved my life by jumping in front of a large poisonous snake that
was getting ready to bite me, only to be bitten himself. He fought off a pack of
wild dogs allowing me time to get to my truck in safety. A large Florida black
bear attacked him one night while trying to get at the food we were eating. I
thought he was going to die, but after 400 stitches and months of recovery, my
old dog was right back at my side. I love this old dog and I owe him my life
many times over. Since the day I lost my dog, I haven't been able to eat or
sleep at night. This dog means more to me then all my CPs put together.
If you happen to see an old lonely looking dog roaming around the Carolina
Coast, look closely, he's not hard to identify. He's a mixed breed of collie,
fox and dachshund. He weights over 200 pounds, has one eye, a broken nose, no
front teeth, bent tail, chew off ears, missing left front leg and goes by the
name of LUCKY. If you happen to spot him, please give me a call.
