Dear Sam,

This is my favourite type of question. In fact, most taxonomists try
to avoid this problem where they can, talking about "species of
_Phalaenopsis_", "_Phalaenopsis_ taxa", or "two wonderful specimens
of _Phalaenopsis...".

I would call them _Phalaenopsides_ or species/specimina
_Phalaenopsidis_.

As with pronounciation, there are no fixed rules for plural forms
(they are almost never used in the recent literature, and the older
literature tried to respect the rules of Latin grammar and not of
the ICBN, which did not exist in Linnaeus' times).

Kind regards
Jan
