Hey Ermine,
When the traps no longer close and are concave, that is because the trap has
closed several times before. A VFT cannot open, close, open, close and so on
all the time. It can only do it a couple times, and after the final closure,
it becomes retracted and no longer closes till the trap begins to die.
I think the growth of smaller leaves is because dormancy is close, or because
you are not keeping the plants humid enough and well lit. VFTs require alot
of light and humidity during the growing season. But, right now you shouldn't
have much to worry about.
What you want to do when winter comes around is basically take the plants out
of their pots, soak them in water, put 'em in bags, and stick them in the
fridge for about 3-5 months. That's it. IF you have any more questions, let
me know.
Bye
Behrad
