"I was also wondering this, is it possible that the show was really one
of the common shows like "Wild Discovery" or "Sci-Trek" and the episode
was just called "Death Traps and Life Lines" ?

It's the Discovery Channel all right.

   Try: http://www.exn.net/onair/

It lists "Deathtraps and Lifelines: A New Look at Carnivorous Plants" as
having aired November 27, 28, 28, 29 and no others. I found this info
about an hour after the last show aired.
