Subject: VFT pollination

Dear list,

I was wondering if pollen from "shark teeth" VFT was transferred to a
normal VFT plant, what would the offspring look like? I have heard
that inbreeding in animals is detrimental and increases suseptibility
to diseases, would this be the case with plants also? I know that
many plants are often self pollinated, would this make the offspring
plants weaker? Many plants try to avoid self pollination...maybe for
this very reason.

thanks
adwait
