Hi CPers!
About one month ago I asked about possible harm to VFT, H. minor
and Ceph if fed with woodlice (aka sow- or pill-bugs). I was
convinced by some of you that it's okay and here are the results:
VFT: 3 woodlice went into 3 big traps
--------------------------------
1 trap rotted away completely - amputated
1 trap got a black spot that is still growing
1 trap feels fine but is still closed after some 3 weeks
Ceph: 1 woodlouse went into the biggest trap
--------------------------------------
the trap is fine, no harm visible
Heli: 2 woodlice went into the biggest 2 of only 3 adult traps
--------------------------------------------------------
1 trap rotted away - amputated
1 trap looks fine
1 new adult trap shows up where #1 was cut away
With this result I would describe feeding woodlice to be a
certain risk. I'm still considering a lawsuit ;-)))
I set the remaining woodlice free as I don't have any Neps or
Sarrs (they should be no problem for them) and am waiting now
for the houseflies to reappear.
Bye, Stefan.
