I've had great success combatting scale with Orthene. It may take several
applications, spread over a few weeks, but it is possible to completely
eliminate scale with this pesticide. It is very safe for Nepenthes,
but can damage some Utrics, by the way.
It may be beneficial to spray some other plants that have been near the
ones known to have scale since this insidious pest does migrate (though
at a rather slow rate, thankfully).
