Subject: Controlling Scale

Thanks everyone (Jeff, Charles, Robert, Dave, Mark, Paul, and Paul) for
advice on controlling scale on Nepenthes. To summarize: Orthene,
Isotox, dimethoate, and pyrethrin(s) have been used successfully, and
"Concern" (derived from azaleas?) and "Systemic Houseplant
Insecticide" (brand or active ingredient not specified) might work too.
Seedlings or very small plants might be more sensitive to chemicals than
older plants. That's enough to get started; thanks again!
