ALL plants that have been grown inside can easily sunburn the first
time they are placed outside in the spring, even if they are
sun-loving and have lived in a sunny window all winter. (Just like we
all burn the first time WE go out!) The sun outside is much more
intense than sun through a window. For this reason, every plant moved
outdoors should be gradually acclimated to the full sun, starting it
in partial to full shade.

The reddish coloring isn't too serious, though, and since you've
already "acclimated" your plants (the hard way instead of the gradual
way), I think they should be able to tolerate a fair bit of sun from
now on. A bit of afternoon shade or a little filtering shade may be a
good idea.
