Dear Laurent & al.,

The pitchers are very different from _N. madagascariensis_. They have
a very widely ventricose lower part and a more narrowly waisted upper
part.

The seeds do not have the filiform appendage on either side of the
embryo that is common in the genus.

AFAIK, only one taxonomist (Hallier) really considered such a
possibility. All others just cited him but continued to include the
species in _Nepenthes_.

There is a third one, viz. _N. masoalensis_ (like _N.
madagascariensis_ endemic to Madagascar).
Kind regards
