Subject: neat flava flower

hello list.

Just an interesting comment. I have a flava, grown from some seeds from a
Virginia population, that has 7 petals. I really haven't thought much of it
over the last few years, because I never took note of which plant it was. I
just thought I was getting spuradic mutant flowers. So 3 years ago, I
started taking note of the plant that was doing this. Guess what. It was
the same plant consistantly every year. This year, there are 3 flowers, and
once again, all have 7 petals!! If anyone has ever got a plant labelled
SFL14 from me over the years, watch for this mutation. Some of the plants
from the original seed batch may also do the same thing. I've also
distributed some divisions from this plant, so they'll definitely exhibit
the mutation.
