Hello Randall,

   I think you'll find that many Pinguicula, Utricularia, and possibly
Genlisea will enjoy higher pH (lower being more acid, by-the-way) and
more free nutrients in the soil for the roots to absorb. A little
vermiculite added to soil can increase the amount of nutrient in the
soil and buffer the amount available to the roots between applications
of weak fertilizer solution.
