Subject: An Introduction...of sorts

Hi
I've been lurking for a few days and thought that an introduction was in
order.
I'm Steven Venter and live on a smallholding in the Nkwaleni Valley,
Zululand, South Africa. My interest in CPs stems from the purchase of a
flytrap many years ago at a fleamarket.
At present, I'm rather more of an "armchair" CP gardener as despite many
attempts, I have been unable to find a source of CP seeds in South Africa.
And the only plants available locally, and which I have, are flytraps and D.
capensis. Rather a boring collection, even I must concede.
I am TOTALLY fascinated by the pitchers, both Sarra. and Nepenthes, and
despite ordering numerous times from overseas suppliers, I have yet to
receive seeds.
Once, an import permit took too long to arrive and my plants were
destroyed...and I vowed never again. The last two orders (for seeds) from a
company in America, never arrived. This was two years ago, so I have
resigned myself to the fate of being a flytrap and sundew collector!
I look forward to reading the postings in this list.
Steve.
