My questions: What's happening? How did it begin? How do I treat it?
And will the rest of my plant survive?
Hi Gary,
Dab wettable sulfur on the cut end of the rhizome. I try to position
the cut portion so that it's exposed to air. Remove the slimy sphagnum
and keep an eye on the remaining sphagnum. You may have to remove more
or all of what's left.
You might still get a pitcher or two from the growing point. It will,
however, overwinter and start back next spring, even if nothing grows
this season.
