I just acquired the following titles to add to my library of
plant-related topics:
1. The Wordsworth Dictionary of Botany, by George Usher. 1996 by
Wordworth Editions Ltd. 404 pp. ISBN 1-85326-374-5. Indispensable
reference for anyone involved with plants.
2. The Genus Echinocereus, by Nigel P. Taylor. (Kew Magazine Monograph
series). 1985 by Timber Press. 160 pp. ISBN 0-88192-052-5. An exhaustive
review of this genus of cacti.
3. Comparative Phytochemistry, T. Swain (ed.). 1966 by Academic Press.
360 pp. An excellent reference on plant natural product chemistry,
chemotaxonomy and the distribution of major chemical classes such as
alkaloids, terpenoids and polysaccharides in higher plants. -- Jack
