Subject: Problem with a whithering WA pitcher

Hi everyone,
A few months ago I purchased an all green Cephalotus cultivar which, up
until two weeks ago, had been growing like a weed (Much better than
my other standard variety Ceph). However, recently the leaves have
started loosing turgidity. First it affected the pitchers and now
the non-carnivorous leaves are "drying up" and beginning to curl
downwards. However they don't appear to be browning off or losing
any colour at all. The plant is potted in a 6" terracotta pot in media
consisting of 4 parts peat, 1 part sand and 1 part perlite with a bit
of sphagnum spinkled on the top for aesthetic appeal. It gets
watered regularly and isn't left to sit in a tray of water. It's
positioned on a shaded window sill and currently gets about 60-70%
humidity thanks to the onset of winter and the absence of central
heating in my house. My other Ceph' grows under the same conditions
and is now thriving. I'm spraying the problem plant with Fongarid
(which is active against root rot) and I've just repositioned both
plants to a slightly brighter window in the hope that the plant will
improve (or at least hang on until spring when I can take cuttings).
Curiously the single offshoot from the main plant doesn't seem to
be greatly affected by the whithering. It has been closer to the
window hence my reason for repositioning the plant.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing the problem
and I guess more importantly any solutions or should I start lighting
candles and pray for the poor thing.
Thanks in advance.
Andrew
