Subject: Help needed with Venus Flytrap dormancy

Hello!

I just recently received a shaby looking venus flytrap as a gift. Mom
was in wallmart and seen it and bought it for me. It looks really bad
:( am guessing from the increased photoduration and lack of temperature
requirment needed for fall/winter, it even had that silly looking
plastic cup thingie on it! I promptly pulled it off and put cup and all
in my mini bog garden outside (day temp 70-75\260F, night temp 50-60\260)
After a few weeks it started looking better. Today I trimed off all the
dead leaves (again looks like it was seriously neglected for a LONG
time) put it in a plastic bag and put a wet paper towel piece (about 3")
in the bottom to keep it moist and put it in the fridge.

My question is this a good/bad thing for this plant?? Also how long
should I keep it in the fridge (it stays about 38\260) Currently the trap
is in a 3" pot and the bulb looks about 1 1/2" tall at most. Also is
there any good methods/suggestions that I could employ to save this
little guys life? I would like to see it grow up and catch some huge
fly's <g>

Ed
