I got an email yesterday from Bertalan Galambosi (agricultural expert in
=46inland) who knows more:
Estimated numbers of products made from Drosera rotundifolia: 290
Amount of D. rotundifolia harvested in Finland 1994 and exported (mostly to
Switzerland): 2100 kg
Amount of Drosera madagascarensis harvested each year for European market:
10 tons
All of it collected in the wild. If one plants weights a couple of grams,
it means that millons of plants are collected each year. No wonder it's
called a threat to Drosera.
