Sarracenia roots eaten (Vine weevils?)

Subject: Sarracenia roots eaten (Vine weevils?)

The bugs described (white grubs, brown heads) definitely sound like vine
weevil larvae to me as well. From what I remember, vine weevils walk
between pots, and probably aren't very good swimmers. Would a water tray
that created a physical barrier help solve the problem?
