Hey Folks,
I'm getting word from people that the December issue of CPN is arriving at
people's doorstep. YESS!
This is a very pretty issue. It contains a tutorial on the astoundingly
pretty P. laueana, a discussion of the strange differences between D.
anglica and D. x anglica, and an excellent Robert Gibson drawing and
article on D. meristocaulis--followed by an exuberant (as always) field
report by Fernando Rivadavia. Another interesting article by Lubomir
Adamec describes the red-pigmented Aldrovanda. Installments of Savage
Garden, seedbanks, and CPN retrospectives add spice to the issue.
The back cover photo is a hoot!
Good reading!
Meanwhile, we are already deep into making the first issue of 2000
(assuming civilization still stands after the y2k day), and this will be
chocked with new cultivar descriptions. Lots of photos are promised. If
you STILL haven't renewed your membership for 2000, it may be too late to
get your name on the March mailing. But if so, your March issue will be
delivered with the issue after that. We are often asked why we work so far
in advance---the answer is $$$$$. Look at CPN, and remember that it is a
volunteer org that makes it---on a shoestring. Only by working in advance
can we make ends meet. You can help by renewing on time.
Otherwise, you'll have to wait for your issues as back issues.
Cheers, all, and happy holidays.
Barry
