Nepenthes ampullaria Ground pitchers. Photographed in Mulu National Park, Malaysia (Borneo). Note that no leafblades are visible. Nepenthes ampullaria is notable for only having ground- and rosette-pitchers but no real upper pitchers. Climbing vines grow short side shoots which grow as rosettes with highly reduced leafblades. Pitchers on the ground trap for ants and other small animals.
