Air-rosette.

Nepenthes ampullaria air-rosette which represents a short side shoot of an old long vine. Note that leafblades are highly reduced. Nepenthes ampullaria is notable for only having ground- and rosette pitchers but no real upper pitchers. Photograph taken in Irian Jaya near Tayeve.
