extreme closeup of flower in cultivation

Cultivation of Pinguicula macrophylla is quite easy. I use 1 part sand/ 1 part calcerous loess/ 1 part peat as substrate. P. macrophylla flowers out of the summer rosette. The winter rosette is bulb-like and normally it is retreated completely in the soil. In winter I keep the soil almost dry, while in summer soil needs to be wet. I have good experiences to keep the plant under artificial light the whole year. P. macrophylla belongs to the tropical heterophyllous growth type.
