Origin of depicted specimens: France, Dépt. Ain, near border to Dépt. Jura. between Col de la Faucille and Mijoux (20 km N of the Swiss city Geneva), 1200 m, loamy limestone soil, collected by myself May 28, 1970. At this site as in some others of this region the dark flowered 'normal' form is associated with the f. pallida. See also 70105 with P.grandifl. subsp. rosea.

7091 shows on the left a specimen from sunny place, on the right is a specimen from shady place, or hybrid between P. grandifl. and P. grandifl. f. pallida which are both found at this site.
