Sarracenia rubra gulfensis is not easy to spot from a road but it appears to occur at a number of localities on and around its type locality in NW Florida. It is rather the limited area of distribution than the size or number of populations that make this a vulnerable taxon. In the depicted forest habitat it grows with S. flava, Pinguicula primuliflora, Drosera filiformis tracyi and other cps. Prescribed burns might help to manage the site.
