The depicted individuals of Sarracenia rubra wherryi belong to a population of allegedly small plants in W Alabama along a roadside ditch. This population near the NW limits of the global distribution of this taxon is small, and all collecting may severely impact its existence. A hybrid (one single individual) showing influence of S. leucophylla was the only other cp found here ("pure" S. leucophylla was not seen). This may indicate that this habitat is in decline. Probably, prescribed burns would be helpful.
