Hey Folks,

The June issue of Carnivorous Plant Newsletter was sent out last week. The
postal authorities are now doubt even now leading their slow-moving
donkeys out of their stables to transport an issue to your doorstep.

This exciting issue includes:
Heliamphora hispida: A new species from Cerro Neblina
----be the first in your neighborhood to read this new species
    description.

Endless Carnivorous Plants in Cape Town, South Africa
----Fernando's goes on a sundew rodeo!

New Cultivars
----Pinguicula 'Hanka', Sarracenia 'Abandoned Hope', Sarracenia
'Lamentations', and Sarracenia 'Spatter Pattern'. You can tell by the
lugubrious names which came from Peter D'Amato's grisly greenhouse.

Growing Nepenthes in a Completely Inorganic Substrate
----A *very* interesting cultivation method that, if adopted, could
decrease environmental damage from Sphagnum harvesting. Transplanting
is much easier, and the plants thrive.

Literature Reviews
----New Nepenthes and Sarracenia taxa descriptions.

News and Views
----A new report of a mammal-eating Nepenthes! And don't blame N. rajah--a
different culprit was involved. Lots more in this N & V installment.

Protein Digestion in Nepenthes
----A long but well-written review of digestion in Nepenthes. A must-read
for those interested in whether Nepenthes digest their own food, or
whether they get bacteria to do it for them.

Seedbank, retrospectives, news from the ICPS, and advertising rounds out a
very interesting issue! If you are not a member of the ICPS, such things
you are missing out on!

Cheers

Barry
