Subject: Burned Sarracenia edges

I forgot to mention one thing. The edges of my Sarracenia pitchers have been
getting slight foliage burn for the past 2 years, and I thought at first it
was a disease. Carlifornia Carnivores' Sarracenia have the same problem, and
it turns out it is not a disease. The nector or juices that attract bugs is
concentrated on the edges, and it turns out that the intense light of the
sun or halide lights actually causes the foliage burn - much like burning
ants with a magnifying glass. I've always noticed that secretions, and only
assumed that had to be the culprit, however I never had anyone else to
compare with.
I've been talking about this problem for awhile now, and happy now that it's
not a problem but just fact of nature. A few people were e-mailing me at
that time, and I hope they read it here since I lost all my email archives a
month ago.
