Subject: northern CA

I second Hawks suggestion to visit Patricks Point State Park which is a
lovely, little gem. However for prime rhododendrum viewing right now go
further north. In the Del Norte County parks and along hiway 199 (Jedediah
Smith State Park, etc.) the azalea and rhodies are late this year and are
just coming out. It's quite a glorious ride along 199 right now and the
Darlingtonia bogs are there, too. The Smith River is one of the most
beautiful rivers in the USA, not to be missed. It must be seen up close to
fully appreciate its clarity and amazing color.Anyone wanting particulars
on the northern reaches of CA please feel free to email me.
