I thought it was the other way round. Millipedes eat plants, though to
be fair they usually go for rotting vegetation, and are therefore
considered bad. Centipedes on the other hand are carnivorous so will
probably eat the millipedes if they are big enough, so should in general
be considered good.
Its probably a huge generalisation though - I'm not too well up on the
native US insect life.
