I wouldn't do Darlingtonia (or any Sarracenia) this time of year unless you
are positive about your ability to grow them. If your cultivating methods
aren't on the money, then these plants have a hard time recovering from a
mid-growing season transplant. The best time I have found for transplanting
these plants is in February. The cephalotus would be ok now. One other factor
you have to worry about is how hot your weather is. It's been hotter than
Hades here in Memphis for about 2 months. If a box of plants are left by my
door for more than an hour or two, their probably not going to look too
sporty by the time I take them out. So if it's really hot where you live, I'd
wait until about September or so before having any plants shipped to you.
